Non-muslims and hell

Here's a link telling about non-muslims and hell.

You said that the biggest sin in islam is to have another god than Allah. It's true but only for muslims! You can't do a sin if you don't know that it's a sin. Allah forgives when someone does a sin without knowing it was one. It's possible that even muslims doesn't know something wasn't allowed and they do it by accident. Allah won't punish them for that because he is FAIR.

I remember when I converted into islam... During my first months I did many things that I wasn't supposed to do. For example the first time I went to a mosque I didn't know that I shouldn't talk while the imam was preaching. Then after my visit I was told that it's almost the worst thing you can do during the friday sermon xD But I swear I have never met someone who would tell me I would be punished for that! Simply because Allah is the most merciful and forgiving. It means he is more merciful than any creature in the universe! If you would forgive me for that, certainly will Allah. I think no one can argue with this because it's said so many times in the quran...

There is also this hadith qudsi from "an-nawawi's forty hadiths"  (=100% authentic)
Hadith # 39
On the authority of Ibn Abbas that the messenger of Allah said:
"Allah has pardoned for me my people for [their] mistakes and [their] forgetfulness and for what they have done under duress."
A fine hadith related by Ibn Majah, Al-Baihqi, and others

You should understand that islam is a gift. There are people who accept it and people who doesn't.

And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds. [Quran 21:207]
Not upon the Messenger is [responsibility] except [for] notification [Quran 5:99]
There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut(=everything that is wrong) and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it.  [Quran 2:256]

Allah has forbidden injustice for himself

This is a hadith called " Hadith Qudsi" which teaches the most basic things in islam! It's 100% authentic.

You can find these 40 hadiths from a book called "40 Hadith An-Nawawi" :)

This is the beginning of Hadith Qudsi n° 17:
On the authority of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is that among the sayings he relates from his Lord (may He be glorified) is that He said:

"'O My servants, I have forbidden injustice for Myself and forbade it also for you.  So avoid being unjust to one another. -- "

[Muslim (also by at-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah).]

This means that it would be totally unfair if Allah would directly send 5/6 of the whole population on Earth in hell (although many of them have never done anything bad). This confirms that "non-believers" in the quran cannot mean non-muslims. Allah knows what people think and have in their heart and that's what really counts. You'll be judged on your acts. There's a hadith that proves what I'm saying:
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may allah be pleased with him), who said : The messenger of Allah ( peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said : " Allah does not judge according to your bodies and appearances, but He scans your hearts and looks into your deeds "
Allah doesn't look at what we are but he looks at our hearts and our acts. Imagine someone born in a small village and has never heard about Muhammad or doesn't even know what islam is. Can we say he has done something bad? No, because it wasn't his fault that he was born in that little village and has never heard about islam. Allah knows that, because after all it's Him who created him and made him born in that village. In a case like that you cannot accuse him of not being a muslim! ..So he will simply be judged on his acts and intentions. Sending him straight to hell wouldn't be just. Here is a proof for you if you are still not convinced:

Alla said in the Qur'an 49:13   Surah Al-Hujurat"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)."

Notice! Allah is saying "O mankind", not "O muslims".

Even a muslim doesn't know for sure if he is going to hell or to heaven. It's the same for non-muslims. You shouldn't be so afraid for your non-muslim family. If you can't deal with being so afraid for them, you should explain them about islam and make them interested about islam. If they convert because it's their will, Allah will forgive all their sins and they will have a "new start". It's not allowed to force someone to convert to islam!

How could Someone who writes all this in His book be as cruel as people say?
